Calling all professional and pre-professional dancers! Do you want to achieve breakthrough results in your dancing and in your professional career? Take your dancing to the next level and gain the competitive edge! This Saturday there will be one time opportunity for dancers to look at the areas of life that are important, and look at the barriers that hold us back including examining the views we hold about ourselves and others.

Areas covered will include confidence in auditions, confidence in approaching dance companies for work and seeking funding for dance projects, and any other area of dance or life in general that the participants wish to be covered.

The event will be run by Landmark Education, and International Training and Development Organisation that hold courses in over 125 locations in over 20 countries all over the world. Recent graduates of Landmark Education include Travers Ross (SYTYCD), Anthony Ikin (SYTYCD) and Paul White (Sydney Dance Company and ADT, voted best male dancer 2008). These dancers all attribute Landmark Education as being a major influence on their success in dance today, including being able to secure work, having the clarity to make important career decisions, as well as being totally confident and fully self expressed in their dancing.

This free event will include an opportunity to learn about the Landmark Forum (the flagship program of Landmark Education) a 3 1/2 Day course held in Sydney approximately once a month. The cost of the training includes an optional 10 week seminar series that runs on weeknights.

The Spark that revolutionised the world of street dance…

As a highly respected choreographer, performer, producer and businessman, Shane Sparks is a dance icon of our generation. Shane’s passion and determination to support and promote the dance industry inspires dancers across the globe.

Not only is Shane a highly respected choreographer within the field, he also holds a successful biography to date. His biography presents a broad array of experiences that I’m sure our readers can relate to -  giving insight in to what it takes to conquer the dance industry.

It is refreshing to find that Shane is a humble and grounded professional. Referring to pioneers of street dance styles, Shane not only demonstrates a keen awareness of dance history, but also follows in the footsteps of those who have left their mark in the industry, whilst adding his own style and interpretation to the movement.

Shane’s says that “all dancing is to have a beat and rhythm no matter what.”  This is evident in his hot choreography!

Through the mediums of television and the internet, including You Tube, Australian dancers are able to view Shane’s choreographic pieces and become inspired in their own performance choices. With the click of a button, dancers have the ability to eliminate boundaries of time and place and become absorbed in Shane’s vision and interpretation. Make sure you check out some of Shane’s work on You Tube!

For more information on Shane’s up and coming projects, visit www.theofficialshanesparks.com
