500 Dancers Needed!

Dance your way out of dangerous climate change…

Like to boogie? Can’t get enough of Saturday night? Are you a rising dance star? Or do you simply want the chance to work some of Australia’s leading choreographers? The Australian Youth Climate Coalition needs your help to make history.

Power Shift is Australias first national youth climate summit, being held over three days on July 11th 13th in Sydney. Thousands of young people from every State & Territory will converge on Sydney to build a generation-wide movement to solve climate change. We’re united around 3 aims: Green jobs for our generation; a Shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy; and a safe climate future.

The climax of the conference will be held on the afternoon of Monday, July 13, at a predominant Australian landmark. It’s part protest, part celebration, part flash mob. In one of the most recognised locations across the globe, we’ll enact a mass dance routine to highlight the power, energy and creativity of the youth climate movement.

The routine will be choreographed by the crew from A-live Entertainment, whose past credits include: Tap Dogs, Top 20 dancers from the last two seasons of So You Think You Can Dance, Happy Feet, Cats, King Kong etc etc. Filmed by every media outlet, featuring dancing polar bears and koalas, planet costumes, hundreds of kites, as well as classic hits such as Forever Young, What is Love and Sweet Dreams are Made of This, this is bound to be one of the most memorable events of all time.

Want to be involved? We’re looking for 500 people with dance experience to form the core of the dance routine. Will you take up the challenge to be those dancers? It is an incredible and unforgettable opportunity for all those involved, and is destined for global notoriety. We need your help to solve the biggest crisis facing our generation - climate change.
