I recently bought a pair of Capezio’s new Freeform dance shoes. They are so light, and comfortable and I just love them! The new dance flats by Capezio are a step up in design from the typical dance slipper, and I couldn’t resist. Needing a new pair of ballet flats I thought I would try them.
As they come in black, tan and light pink they can be worn for jazz, modern, contemporary or ballet, and look great for all! They are even popular for yoga and Pilates too. They are so unique and trendy with a combination of thin breathable lycra and lines of leather. The moment I pulled them out of my dance bag last week my class mates were asking me about them! The word has gone around the studio about “Deb’s cool new shoes” and I’ve even had teachers and other dancers asking me about them in the hall way and in breaks!
The Freeforms are split sole, with mesh in the arch of the foot. I don’t have the most amazing arches, but the Freeform’s make my feet look great! Even my teacher commented! I recently had a pair of split sole shoes with the soles joined by elastic. Although they looked cool, I found that when turning, the heels would come off my feet, as the elastic would twist. It was very frustrating. However, the great thing about the Freeform slipper is that I have been able to turn and turn without the heels twisting very much at all. They fit like a glove and have thin elastic type mesh wrapping the arch and joining the split sole to keep both soles together, and the heel on. They also have an elastic strap that can either we worn, or just sit in the back of the heel neatly. I have worn the shoes with the elastic strap across my foot, and without, and they look great. The strap is useful also, as if I feel that the heel may come off, I can always pull the straps on, like a normal ballet shoe.
I am tempted to get a black pair for Jazz class now….and so is everyone else in my class! They really look fantastic and fit so nicely. They are streamlined and light. I would recommend them to anyone!
