Eurotard Dancewear is proud to have a Brand Ambassador program where dancers who are training, pre-professional and professional represent its brand and all of its possibilities.
Eurotard Brand Ambassadors (BAs as they’re fondly called) create a beautiful bridge between dancer/athlete and the Eurotard company.
Dance Informa caught up with Canadian BA Gracie Smith and asked her a few questions about dance, her future plans and some of her favorite Eurotard products!
How did you first hear about Eurotard?
“My mom and I were searching for flowy skirts and found Eurotard skirts! I love them and how they look so beautiful when I dance in them and in my photos.”
Do you have a favorite Eurotard product?
“I love the skirts! But I also really love the leotards!”
What made you want to be a Brand Ambassador for Eurotard?
“I follow Eurotard on Instagram and love how the company is always very supportive and engaging with its audience. I love that they support everyone so much.”
What do you wear the most – pink tights or black tights?
“Pink!”
What is your favorite style of leotard? Cap sleeve, tank, long sleeve, camisole?
“I actually love all of these styles, but my favorite front is a V-neck.”
What do you prefer to dance in – flat shoes or pointe shoes?
“My favorite are pointe shoes! But sometimes I like to dance a soft, flowy, contemporary ballet piece in my flat ballet slippers.”
When did you first start dancing?
“My first class was when I was almost two years old!”
What is your favorite style of dancing?
“I’m a ballerina in my heart and soul, but I love contemporary and hip hop!”
Do you compete?
“I do compete, but my reason for competing is to get on stage, perform and hopefully move the audience.”
Do you have a favorite dance show on TV?
“I watch World of Dance!”
Who is your favorite choreographer or dancer?
“I really love Dusty Button. She is taking her own path and making a huge impact on the dance world.”
What has been your favorite role or variation that you’ve performed?
“I danced a White Swan variation this year and really loved performing it. I enjoyed the challenge it has given me and am going to continue working on this variation and improving it.”
What’s your funniest performance memory?
“Well, at the time it wasn’t too funny, but this season while performing my White Swan variation, at about one minute in, the back of my pointe shoe came off! I had to leave the stage. My studio director and my mom came running backstage to find me and make sure I was okay, and than my studio director spit on her hand and put it on the back of my shoe to make it stay on. It worked! She’s the best!”
What is your dream role?
“I am not sure yet what my dream role would be. I find that I am always changing, and I think that when I actually dance my dream role, then I will know that was it.”
Do you have a dream company?
“I would love to dance with The Royal Ballet.”
What are your favorite dance steps – pirouettes or jumps?
“Jumps.”
As a dancer, what do you prefer – adagio or petit allegro?
“I like adagio.”
What are your photo shoot go-tos and necessities?
“Leotards! Cool costumes!”
You’ve done so many photo shoots in different settings. Do you have a favorite photographer or place to shoot?
“Chad Pilkington. We always try to come up with creative sets. But I like to shoot on white.”
What is your favorite form of social media?
“Instagram!”
