With the COVID-19 pandemic, events have been canceled, studios have been closed, and our normal dance life has been sadly on pause. However, some states are slowly reopening, and the dance industry to brainstorming how we can resume our normal classes, competitions and conventions, although of course with safety first.
Groove Dance Competition and Convention has announced that it will be extending its 2020 Regional Competition Season with a series of make-up events. These events will take place in multiple cities and give dancers the same opportunity to compete and dance on stage.
A recent statement by Groove said, “There will be extra precautionary measures taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all in attendance. These measures will be communicated to all studio directors leading up to the competition and assessed on a city by city basis. We hope that you are as excited as we are to get back to dancing and doing what we love! Groove will host a virtual competition (NJ) from May 29-31, and then will tour to cities in Minnesota, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, California, Texas, New Jersey, New York and more.
